The Recognized Program is a study program that is built around a credit-point system.
The principal method of earning credit points through the successful completion of a subject. Each subject has the same credit value of 3 points. Their are several advantages to this program method, not the least of which is the advantage of a flexible study options, we can allow the student to self select their subject rather than working to a fixed curriculum. As subjects are completed credit points accumulate towards an award.
Credits can be earned in several ways allowing a student to gain advanced standing leap forwards in the study goals. Credits can be earned in the following ways.
Subject Credit Point: Each subject completed at a passing level is worth three credit points. This means a student can earn an award by successfully completing 10 subjects and thus earning 30 credit points.
Essay Credit Points: An additional credit point per subject may be earned by writing an optional essay. This option is in addition to the assessment and cannot be used as a replacement of the assessment. The greatest benefit of undertaking an essay will is that it will both reduce the number of subjects required to complete an award and at the same time enhance the students understanding of the subject thus better equipping the student for their calling.
If a student undertakes to complete an essay with each book then, to gain 30 credits, a student will need to complete 8 books and 6 essays to earn the same award.
Student Study Guide. An optional Student Study Guide is worth two extra credit points and takes the student into a deeper level of study. The student is required to write a summary, answer questions and write a reflective paragraph on each chapter. The benefits of undertaking a Student Study Guide is that it will both reduce the number of subjects required to complete an award and at the same time enhance the students understanding of the subject thus better equipping the student for their calling. If a student undertakes to complete a Student Study Guide with each book then, to gain 30 credits, a student will need to complete 5 books and 5 Student Study Guides to earn the same award.
Note: The essay and student study guides are options. Only one ption may be undertaken and they are not available as an option for the Degree Courses. Through academic credits and or Life (ministry) Skills credits a student can earn up to a maximum of 40% of the value of the course being undertaken for advanced standing.
